Warning: Extreme Cuteness Ahead

Sunday, 30 October 2011

As usual I am multi-tasking while posting this. My halloween nail polish, in orange with silver crackle overcoat, is drying while I type and I'm catching up on some HGTV. It's been a busy few weeks and my feet are UP right now! This past week my alias was "clumsy"; I cut my finger on my paper cutter and then tripped and fell on the way in to work a few days later. I am covered in bandages, bruises and swelling and am complaining of aches and pains. But life goes on! My name next week will be "graceful"...haha.

I love how picture say a thousand words, so take a look at some of the cuteness in the last few weeks. Jarvis caught a hilarious video from Kyleigh's piano recital that I will share when he sends it to me. For now I will just say that Alyssa won't be invited to recitals for a little while ;)

Alyssa chose all of these items carefully...what a fashionista
(and she has my lunch bag in her hand, all ready to go to work!)

Alyssa has character, that's for sure

Viewing day at dance class, I think she is a natural (when she listens!)

So Thankful

Monday, 17 October 2011

A post about being thankful is a given considering it was Thanksgiving day a week ago, but I truly am thankful constantly for the things God has given us. Recently Kyleigh has been noticing and mentioning daily things that she appreciates. "Mommy, this place where we live is really beautiful, isn't it? Look at those trees!" Tonight after piano group class she pointed at the sunset and said "Mommy is that the sun rising? It is really pretty. Beautiful and pretty." Hearing these things from a child is really inspiring; reminding me of the majesty that is all around us in the every day. I am so thankful for so many things and was able to capture some in photos.

Family
(Unfortunately I didn't capture all of our awesome family members on camera this thanksgiving season...sorry to those I missed. I'll get you next time ;) )

My little sis came down to visit two weekends ago!

 Field Trip

I managed to get last Wednesday off from work so I could spend the morning with my big girl for her preschool field trip. We had a great time at the corn maze and petting zoo.

Kyleigh is almost right in the middle there...peek between the boards.

So thankful. My heart is full.

September

Sunday, 2 October 2011

Every year September is like a fresh start with lots of potential for the coming season. After a refreshing summer of relaxed schedules and less routine, the Fall busyness is almost welcomed. With the weather being so amazing this past month it has been a whole lot easier to say good-bye to Summer and welcome the new season.
The girls are having fun and adjusting to their new routines and I am scrambling to keep ahead and organized. Our house is so disorganized right now, but I'm not going to let it bother me because we are enjoying ourselves. Laundry sorting, garage purging, meal planning and weeding will have to wait. We got a little bit done this weekend. Very little ;)

Back to Preschool

Kyleigh is getting so tall

In her comfort zone - the book corner

This year it was so much easier to drop Kyleigh off at preschool and know she would be alright. Old hat! There have been some adjustments back to the routine and meeting new classmates but she is having a great time.

Individual Time with Alyssa

Alyssa misses her big sister when she is at preschool, but we have lots of fun with just the two of us. Play dates, shopping, parks and whatever else we find to do. Alyssa and I also hang out together at Kindermusik every week and although she throws a fit every time we arrive, she really enjoys the class.

The Giant Pumpkin Festival is sort of a signal that Fall is here, but we were blessed with a hot and beautiful day to enjoy outside! It was great!

It is now October and right on cue the weather yesterday was cool and the air was a little crisp. Thanksgiving, pumpkins and costumes are on their way :)
